October 17, 2020 – A beautiful autumn day in Hampton Roads. Sunshine, highs in the upper 60’s or low 70’s. No tourists in site. Exactly the time of the year that reminds us all of why we live here in the first place.
And music is slowing making a comeback and in a safe way. On this particular Saturday there were options to please any musical palette all within easy reach. And if that wasn’t a viable option, Stockley Gardens Art Show music was virtual this year with two full afternoons of local favorites on the bill and showing in the comfort of one’s own home.
However……
Audacity Brass Band.
Hometown show at Three Roads Brewing in Farmville.
So the trusty Fit was loaded up and fueled up and pointed west. Ok, so not accurate, in order to go west from Virginia Beach one must navigate a series of west, east, north, south, inside, outside, backward, upsidedown, insideout, trafficreallysuckshere maneuvers. In spite of the insistence of Apple Maps, The Fit chose the 460 route.
And off to Farmville it was.
I could easily write 10,000 words about why you really need some Audacity Brass Band in your life. And chances are that one day I actually will. But if you subscribe to the ‘A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words’ theory of life, then i will submit my roughly 38,000 or so words on the subject via digitized ones and zeros.
For the record, Audacity Brass Band is:
Tyler Gage
Cody Lenard
Colleen Trempe
Nate Irving
Sam Andrews
Josh Golub
Michael Eidson
Dean Pollard
Nick Gammon
TJ Lindsay
And you need to go see them.
