To be honest, I’m not really certain how this whole thing is going to turn out.  In theory, this is the place where I’m going to gather my thoughts, words, and images in an attempt to create some type of cohesive home. My archives are packed with images, sounds, and more half-written semi-missives than make me comfortable, all of which serve as a testament to my world of distraction and half-finished projects.

What can you expect here?

Pictures. Still and moving. If I recall correctly, my first working camera was a Kodak Instamatic that found its way into my hands around 1976 or so. Since then, photography has been a constant companion as I wander through life and the advent of the Digital Age opened the floodgates. ‘Shoot first, ask questions later’ is a mantra that I’ve fully embraced but over the years I have never really had a singular comprehensive platform to present some of my work.

Words. I am an unapologetic fanboy of the written and spoken word but only if done well. Grammar Nazi is a term frequently tossed in my direction (deservedly so) but I’m trying to recover from that and focus more on the entirety of the thought than the mechanics of delivery. While over the years my photographic work has found various platforms for display, my words have largely remained closely held. Opening up these floodgates will be more personal for me but as I ‘gain more experience in life,’ it is becoming more obvious to me that I should augment my images with words. While ‘misunderstood’ is not an appropriate adjective to describe me, ‘unheard’ probably is. But the fault isn’t on the receiving end but rather the transmission end. One can’t hear what isn’t said.

Pictures and Words. Join me on this journey, the destination won’t be nearly as interesting as the trek.
